Bradford Hopeful Hereford Game Will Go Ahead

With conditions said to be going to ease towards the weekend Bradford City are hopeful they can get their game on against Hereford on Saturday.

"Despite lows of minus 10 over the last few nights, the pitch covers have done the job and the playing surface is in good condition," director Roger Owen told the Bradford OS.

"We had to call the Youth Cup match off ( vs Southampton) as we just couldn`t get things ready in time and any further frost after that game would have meant almost certainly losing the Hereford fixture to the weather.

"As things stand we don`t intend moving snow off the playing surface until temperatures lift on Thursday. At the moment the forecast is for two days of better weather going into Saturday which is when our big push will come.

"As far as the pitch and terraces are concerned we will be pushing snow to the two long sides and I am looking to build four poly tunnels to cover the snow and then blow hot air in from each end.

"I`m also appealing for someone to lone us 8 hot air blowers and gas or perhaps donate the cost to contact us also."
