Results Round Up

Torquay head the table after the second round of matches with their 2-0 win at Lincoln making them one of only two sides with 100% records. The other is Shrewsbury, who won at Macclesfield thanks to a single third minute goal. The Bulls are one of seven sides on four points with Cheltenham, who beat Crewe 3-2, Chesterfield and Port Vale, who drew with each other 1-1, Rotherham, who got a goalless draw at Morecambe, and Aldershot, who beat Southend 1-0.

Pointless at the bottom are Lincoln and Crewe, with seven sides on a single point. Among them are pre-season fancies Northampton and new boys Oxford and Stevenage. The Cobblers got a 0-0 home draw with Accrington, while the U's lost 2-1 at home to Bury. The Boro lost 1-0 at Bradford. Both the other games ended goalless with Stockport drawing with Wycombe and Barnet drawing with Burton.

In the opening day of the Conference both relegated sides won by 1-0 scorelines with Grimsby overcoming big-spending Crawley, and Darlington beating Newport. Forest Green lost 3-1 at Mansfield, and Kidderminster needed a late penalty to beat York 2-1.
