News Round Up

The Johnstones Paint Trophy rules on team strength have been altered this season. Clubs must meet either last season's rule of fielding six of the 11 most regular starters from that season's fixtures, or six of the 11 that played in the game before or after the JPT tie. Gary Hooper is expected to miss six weeks after tearing a calf muscle in a friendly game. He missed the SPL opener, and will miss Celtic's Europa League play-off.

Rotherham's hopes of signing striker Jon Macken look to be fading with the player training with Walsall. Macclesfield say they have no budget left to resign striker John Rooney after he failed to respond to their contract offer. The 19 year old is now on trial at a second US side. Torquay have recorded a club record run of nine League games without conceding a goal after their 2-0 win over Lincoln at the weekend.

No current Bulls in the Team of the Week, but three ex-Bulls are nominated in League Two. Anwar Uddin, Chris Palmer, and Craig Stanley are all nominated with Wycombe, Gillingham, and Torquay all getting two players each into the XI. Marc Pugh was named in the League One side, and John Eustace in the Championship XI.

Bradford have sold winger Scott Neilson to Crawley for a five-figure fee. The 23 year old started two of their three games this season, but spent the back end of last season out on loan at Cambridge.
