19 year old Macclesfield striker John Rooney is wanted by Derby County. The younger brother of Wayne has already had a trial at the club.
He is also reported to be interesting Sheffield United and Doncaster.
Last Wednesday he played for Derby in a friendly against Sheffield Wednesday.
"It's not going to be easy for him. His brother is so special so he's always going to be in shadow no matter what he accomplishes," said Derby manager Nigel Clough.
"John's trying to make his own way and I think he wants to be a professional and as long as he can do at that whatever level that will be a success."
Rooney junior is expected to be in Macclesfield's squad to play Hereford United tomorrow.
