Whilst Gavin McCallum will steal the headlines with his two goals, credit should also be given to both Tyler Weir and Paul Downing who were drafted into the Hereford United defence this evening against Lincoln City.
Product of the Hereford youth set-up, 18 year old Weir took over at left-back for suspended Ryan Valentine whilst Paul Downing, also 18, made his first start for the Bulls after joining the club on loan from West Bromwich. He partnered 26 year old Darren Jones.
Sam Gywnne, now 22, made up the quartet at right back.
It's probably the youngest back four Hereford United have used for some years.
And both Weir and Downing gave competent displays against a Lincoln side which took time to get into the game.
