Magpies Announce Investment Secured

Notts County have announced that they have secured investment, and that tomorrow's court date will be postponed.

A statement from the club says the unnamed investor has satisfied the taxman that the plans are genuine, and that tomorrow's court appearance will lead to a 28 day postponement to get the funding in place. The investment is subject to due dilligence, suggesting the investor will take a significant stake in the club, and is stated to clear exisiting debts and provide long term working capital to the club.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have become the first Football League club to enter Administration this season. They have been up for sale for the past year, with owner Simon Jordan admitting before Christmas that he had 'cashflow problems'.

The imminent deduction of ten points for entering Administration will drop them from two points away from the Championship play-offs to four points clear of the relegation zone. Their Administrators are the same firm as the one appointed by Luton Town in 2007.
