Hopes amongst Bulls fans that Lionel Ainsworth might return to Edgar Street have been dashed after he joined Brentford on loan.
The one month loan deal sees the 22 year old join up with former Bulls colleague Toumani Diagouraga, who arrived at the Griffin Park outfit late last week. Diagouraga only made the bench for last night's match with Southampton after being subbed at the weekend due to an injury incurred after a challenge from former Shrewsbury man Grant Holt, who was given a straight red card.
Meanwhile Chester have been given a 42 day stay of execution by the courts over their £26,000 tax debt. The placing of the club up for sale for £1 appears to have been sufficient to buy them time, with the new court date set for March 10th. They are 29 points adrift of safety, meaning they could have already been relegated by the new court date.
