Burton Albion are said to be keen on keeping Tony James, the former Hereford United defender, who has been linked with a move back to Edgar Street.
Albion manager Paul Peschisolido is understood to have made James an improved offer to keep him at the Pirelli Stadium after pressure from other players.
James is said to be considering the new offer. It's expected he will need to inform Hereford United manager John Trewick of his decision before the transfer deadline closes tomorrow.
