Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has been talking about the move of Jordon Mutch to Hereford United for the next five weeks. The youngster fractured both feet due to growing pains last season.
"It is a good opportunity for him to go on loan just now," said McLeish.
"He’s still only 17 don’t forget, 18 in December.
"He has been pushed media-wise quite a lot and you tend to look at him and think he’s an old man but he’s only 17.
"He has got to slow down as well because he’s come back from a potentially career-threatening injury.
"To come through that, that kid, to do what he’s done, sit in a wheelchair for two or three months – incredible.
"If he goes and plays at a higher level in terms to reserve football, then it will sharpen him up and if it’s one of the divisions below us then that will toughen him up as well.
"I think it will be great for him."
