Newell sacked by Grimsby

Another League Two manager has been sacked.

This time it is Mike Newell who until a few hours ago was in charge at Grimsby.

A club statement said:

"Despite the intention for continued support beyond the recent poor results and disappointing performances the club has dismissed Mike Newell due to irretrievable breakdown.

"The directors believe they have done everything possible to back him during his period with the club but were left with no alternative but to terminate his contract with immediate effect."

Meanwhile after the recent improvement in form of Hereford United, manager John Trewick is now perhaps the least likely manager to be sacked this season in League Two.
