Press Day at Edgar Street

The Hereford United squad, so far, were in attendance at Edgar Street this morning for the usual photo call and questions from the press.

Bulls News asked for permission to publish a copy of the squad photo but the club refused.

Meanwhile at the event Richard Rose spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester about how the squad are gelling together. He was confident that the Bulls could challenge for promotion.

"It was a terrible season last season so this season we are looking to bounce straight back," said Rose.

"I really think we are going to get promoted and all the lads are thinking the same as well.

"It is a good team spirit and I think we can do it."

Most of the squad from last season has moved on and Rose, one of only four remaining, has had little time to get to know his fresh team-mates.

"The manager [John Trewick] has let a few players go and the lads who have come in have gelled really quickly," he said.

"It has been good as normally when you have a new team it can take a few games into the new season.

"But the way we were playing in the first couple of weeks in pre-season was really encouraging."

Rose said it had taken a while to get used to the change of manager at Edgar Street.

"There has been a lot of ball work early on whereas there was a little bit more running in last pre-season," he said.

"But John has taken similar traits to those of the gaffer from last year [Graham Turner], so I think it is going to be pretty much the same.

"But then he has his own ideas as well so it is looking encouraging."
