Bury striker Danny Carlton is expected to miss six months of the season after sustaining an Achilles injury in their Carling Cup loss to West Brom. Morecambe defender Fraser McLachlan is likely to miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with knee ligament damage after being forced off during the match with the Bulls on Saturday. It is his second long term injury since joining the club three years ago, and they will seek a replacement in the transfer market.

The draw for the Johnstones Paint Trophy takes place on Saturday. Aldershot are to offer to fund petrol money and tickets to four Darlington fans who were denied entry to the match after they arrived late on Saturday. Dagenham will have to fend off more interest in their players after Cardiff were impressed with midfielder Solomon Taiwo during the Carling Cup match between the sides.

The Cambridge local press have an email from deposed chairman George Rolls that says their playing budget has been cut from £19,000 a week to £10,000 - but the club are currently £4,000 a week over budget. Rochdale have signed Macclesfield midfielder Matthew Flynn on loan for a month due to a shortage of fit bodies at Spotland.
