Hereford United will play Portsmouth at Fratton Park in the second round of the Carling Cup.
The game is expected to be played on Tuesday August 25th unless selected for TV.
Portsmouth are in the Premiership.
Hereford have only played Portsmouth nine times in competitive fixtures, and the most recent clash was in the league cup.
It was the Blues who came out on top in a first round clash in the 1983/4 season.
The first leg was played at Edgar Street in front of just 4631 fans on August 31 1983. Hereford won that game 3-2 with goals from Phillips (2) and Pejic.
But Portsmouth won the second leg 3-1 two weeks later and went through 5-4 on aggregate. Beacock scored the Bulls goal.
