Northampton will join Crewe, Cheltenham, and the Bulls in League Two after being beaten 3-0 by Leeds. Carlisle beat Millwall 2-0, and Brighton beat Stockport 1-0 to seal the Cobblers' fate. Crewe finished the season with a 3-0 home loss to champions Leicester, while Cheltenham lost 2-0 at Southend.
At the top Scunthorpe won the battle for the final play-off spot with a late equaliser giving them the draw against Tranmere that they needed for the last place. MK Dons will face Scunthorpe in the play-offs, with Millwall meeting Leeds.
In League Two Exeter secured back-to-back promotions with a 1-0 win at Rotherham. They join champions Brentford in League One along with Wycombe despite their loss to Notts County which left them a solitary goal ahead of Bury. Shrewsbury make the play-offs after beating their rivals for the final spot, Dagenham, 2-1.
The Shrews now face Bury in the play-offs, while Rochdale face Gillingham.
In the lower leagues Gloucester City beat Farnboro 1-0 to win promotion to the Conf South through the BGB Premier play-offs.
