News Round Up

Amongst the April Fools stories doing the rounds were hair growth floodlights being installed at Oldham, the induction of Colchester striker Clive Platt into Peterboro's hall of fame for his goal against Millwall on Tuesday, Crewe to be wearing a pink kit next season, and Yeovil's mascot to be the green fairy seen on Absinthe bottles. There was also a half (pasta) baked effort about the Bulls changing caterers, which most seemed to want to be true.

The Conference have found no evidence of failure in their procedures following the long delayed results of the inquiry into their methods. Oxford's Mick Brown has resigned from the Conference board as a result saying that the board members were not all given access to the results, with Chairman Nick Merry calling the outcome a 'whitewash'.

Scottish side Clyde face eviction from their council-owned ground due to non-payment of rent. Leicester are the latest side to be in the hunt for Swindon striker Simon Cox. They join Newcastle and West Brom in the chase. Grimsby chairman John Fenty has called the PFA paying players wages at crisis clubs 'immoral'. He says the PFA "is meddling in football in ways that could have a profound effect on the game."
