Massively Disappointing Result says Turner

Hereford United manager Graham Turner gave his reaction to this afternoon's defeat at Hartlepool.

"I didn't think we played badly. I thought we created one or two chances at two-all, which were decent opportunities, but the third goal wins it," Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We've been severely handicapped this week with the number of injuries. I think there are nine in treatment rooms or beds in various parts of the country.

"Peter Gulasci went back to Liverpool for training and developed a knee problem and after consultation with the Liverpool they decided he could be struggling with it. And then Darren Deheny went away with the Irish Under 21's, played last Tuesday. We've told Wednesday/Thursday he's got glandular fever so he's not going to play again this season.

"Any team that has got to use six keepers in a season is going to have problems.

"I think we've been short of that killer instinct both defensively, and in finishing sides off.

"The penalty was a crucial decision. The linesman was very close to the incident and didn't give any indication that it was a penalty.

"It's a massively disappointing result because to be fair to the players they've worked hard. Twice they've picked themselves up to get equalisers and we did create opportunities to have scored more than the two goals.

"It's not all over. We've got games left and we've got to beat Brighton on Tuesday. It's as simple as that."
