Adkins pleased with result

After the Irons defeated the Bulls 3-0 there was little doubt that Nigel Adkins was the happier of the two managers at Glanford Park this evening.

"This is a game that everyone would have expected us to win - and we've done it," said the Scunthorpe manager.

"We played some high tempo football and played some entertaining, attacking stuff.

"Our counts show that we had 23 attempts at goal - 12 on target and 11 off target. We played some exciting football and scored three good goals.

"Obviously we would have liked more goals but most importantly we kept a clean sheet - our first for a while.

"We showed a desire to play well for each other, the supporters are happy, the lads have a smile on their faces and worked very hard for each other."
