Allen Bitterly Disappointed

Martin Allen has told Cheltenham's official site he is bitterly disappointed by the result:

"I've got say I'm bitterly disappointed. To go a goal down, after we were on top at the start, was a blow. You couldn't see it coming. We've been talking about cutting out individual errors for weeks. It's the same story, and that was costly. Fair play to the players - they never let their heads go down. They kept going. They had 20 chances; 12 on target and eight off target. At 2-1 up the ball hits the post and bounces out which would have put us out of range. Then they go down the pitch and smash one in from 25 yards.

"They went in front with a deflected free-kick so that little bit of luck didn't go our way again. The challenges on the edge of the penalty area were poor. It was poor judgement to concede those free-kicks on the edge of the area. We'll go away and watch the DVD and work on it, but it has to be put in practise on the pitch. We weren't under any pressure and we were keeping possession after we went 2-1 up, and then a silly challenge cost us, and that's not good enough.

"We are taking hits, but we have to keep going and believe in ourselves. Keep learning. Keep practicing. There are a lot of points to play for, but this is a bitterly disappointing day."
