Oldham put through the mill by Bulls

The report on the official Oldham website pulled no punches about Oldham's performance against Hereford United at Edgar Street this afternoon. Here's a flavour.

Latics' ten-game unbeaten run blew up in spectacular style as they were put through the mill by goal-crazy strugglers Hereford.

A well-taken hat-trick from leading scorer Steve Guinan helped the Bulls on their way to just their fifth win of the season - leaving Latics' heads spinning.

Manager John Sheridan warned against over-confidence in the days leading up to the game, and his words were wise as his side were played off the park by Graham Turner's men.

The hosts' red-hot start was somewhat ironic considering they had gone three weeks without seeing any competitive action due to a rash of postponements.

Despite the scoreline, the appearance of a barrel-chested streaker raised the biggest cheer on the day late on - the invader's impressive mazy run was eventually ended by stewards.

The Manchester Evening News also had a report from the game. Below a few paragraphs.

HIGH-flying Oldham crashed to an embarrassing defeat - their first in 11 games - at next-to-bottom Hereford.

The home side came up with a rip-roaring attacking display to leave Oldham shellshocked.

Hereford made it look simple on an afternoon when nothing went right for the visitors.

It was a dire display from Oldham and their biggest defeat under Sheridan.
