Once again the gap between the rich and the poor in football has been highlighted by reports that Conference South Worcester City Football Club are close to being £1M in debt.
Their latest accounts for the year ended May 31st 2007 show that the club lost £85,895 that season.
As at that date the club was £978,013 in debt and the worry is that when the 2008 accounts are released that figure may have climbed to over £1M.
In contrast Hereford United owe developers around £1M but are thought to have around £800,000 in the bank after a successful campaign last season and player sales.
