Graham Turner has told the Hereford Journal that doesn't think that Hereford United should pay for policing other than on their ground and property.
"There was a massive police presence outside the ground for the Septmber 5th game, and whilst it is a police decision to rate the Swindon game as high-risk from a security point of view, alongside the visits of Leeds and Leicester, we do not see why we should have to pay for policing on someone's else's land," said Turner.
"When all expenses, including policing, were deducted, we were left with about £5,000
for a gate of just over 4,000.
"I do not have a problem with land that is owned or leased by us.
"We would have been content to pay for policing on any land owned by us inside or outside the stadium.
"No other club we have spoken to has no issue with vicinty charges made by the police.
"This was certainly the case at Southend last Saturday."
Meanwhile a statement issued by West Mercia Police says that there are on-going discussions with the club as they seek to find a resolution to the issue of charging Hereford United for special policing services.
The issue of costs stems from the court case between Wigan Football Club and Greater Manchester Police. (for more details of the case see earlier articles on Bulls News)
Meanwhile Turner has spoken about the next few games.
"I think they will all be tough games and not a lot different from each other; going to Leeds holds no fear for us."
He also said he would like to bring a another defender into the club.
