Stockport defender Rob Clare has been forced to retire at the age of 25 due to persistent injury. The former England u-20 international has spent the last year on the sidelines after suffering a stress fracture of the tibia. The Player of the Month award is between Oldham's Chris Taylor, Leeds' Jermaine Beckford, Carlisle's Danny Graham, and Leicester's Matty Fryatt.

Yeovil are set to sign midfielder Andy Welsh. The former Blackpool man is a free agent but has two other sides chasing his signature. Chester are looking to offload veterans Paul Butler and Tony Dinning. They were sidelined last season after being accused of causing dressing room unrest. They returned to the first team after clear the air talks with the PFA but were dumped out of the side before their weekend win over Barnet.

Leeds have given a guilty plea to the FA after being charged with using an unlicenced agent. Crewe paid £80,000 up front for Burton defender John Brayson the Brewers have revealed. They will receive two further £25,000 payments for 20 and 40 first team appearances plus a 20% of the sell-on.
