More about the Norway link

Graham Turner has given some more information about his efforts to sign a player from Norway. (see earlier story on Bulls News)

"We did a lot of work with his club in Norway, with an agent, with the player himself," said Turner.

"Then, middle of the afternoon time we heard there was an indication that he would not possibly get a work permit in time to meet the midnight deadline because it was a cross-border transfer. It became obvious we would not get it through in time.

"So we missed out on a defender there.

"I would like one more defender in, even if it's an emergency loan.2

Update 10.35: The player from Norway is thought to be Josue Mayard.

Further Update Thursday 7.45am:

Turner has revealed that: "We had a player from Norway who played a game for us. He was a French Canadian."

Meanwhile DanishBull has translated some of the Norwegian text from this website:

Josue Mayard is a 28 year old who can play in either central defence or at right back. Physically strong and strong in the tackle. He spent the last two seasons with second tier Norwegian sides Pors Grenland and his current club NFK. Several minor injuries have limited his playing opportunities this season. His club will not stand in the way of a possible transfer to English football if he can impress enough to earn himself a contract at Hereford they have stated. He is out of contract at the end of the season.
