Mariners Release Two From Bulls Trip

Grimsby will be without midfielder Ciaran Toner and defender Nick Fenton for the trip to Edgar Street.

The pair were both told yesterday that their services are no longer required, and neither will travel to face the Bulls. Fenton had been a regular on the team sheet, missing only three League matches this season. Toner, twice capped for N. Ireland, played in two thirds of the games but is also shown the door after three years.

Veteran striker Gary Jones will also miss out after undergoing surgery on an ankle problem, while James Hunt, a former team mate of Sammy Igoe at Bristol Rovers, is also out with an achilles problem. Winger Peter Till is back in contention after missing last week's match with Peterboro, while a number of the club's younger players are expected to feature.

During their Player of the Year awards, goalkeeper Phil Barnes virtually swept the board winning most of the awards. Youngster Ryan Bennett picked up the youth awards from the club to go with his League Two Apprentice of the Year award collected earlier in April. He has played in 44 of the 45 League games so far this season, only missing a game through suspension.
