It's been on the cards - Little

Wrexham manager Brian Little spoke to Sky Sports after tonight's game at Edgar Street.

"It's been on the cards for a little while. Many things have been going on behind the scenes about planning for next season.

"We had two agendas but it very clear to us which agenda it is now.

"We have to sell our football team as a team that now wants to bounce back. This is, I hope, as low as the team goes, as low as the club goes."

Secretary Geraint Parry added:

"We've just got to get it right on the pitch. Off the pitch we have a few things to sort out but things are going in the right direction.

"There's no financial problem with the football team. Hopefully we can push on and get it right on the pitch. That's where Brian Little job is over the summer. Hopefully a few of these youngsters will be involved and play their part in lifting the club back."

After the game some of the Wrexham players were on their knees, others had their heads in their hands. But they went and thanked their loyal supporters for coming to Edgar Street against all the odds.

Conference football awaits them next season with trips to Forest Green Rovers and Exeter amidst other venues.

Let's hope they don't have to stay there as long as Hereford United did when they went down in 1997.
