Sherjill looked at by plenty of clubs says Turner

In his weekly column for the Hereford Times, Graham Turner has revealed more details about Sherjill Macdonald who has returned to West Bromwich after his loan spell at Edgar Street.

Turner says that a number of Champoinship and big League One clubs were trying to sign him after he had regained his scoring ability.

"One big club in particular wanted to agree a fee and take him on loan to the end of the season.

"Against Stockport there must have been 12-15 prominent clubs here running the rule over Sherjill.

"For a lad who was playing in the Champoins League for Anderlecht as a teenager, it was a bit of a culture shock to him going to Dagenham and Accrington.

"The fact that he finished up with us, albeit for a month, would indicate that, somewhere along the line, his career had stagnated a bit.

"He was probably surprised when I asked him to play up front but we won five of our seven games with him."
