Penney and the Hereford Fixture

Darlington manager Dave Penney has told the Northern Echo that he is hopeful that his side will be still in or close to the automatic playoff places when Hereford United travel north to play them on April 12th. At present the two clubs are within a point of each other in third and fourth position in the table.

"The Hereford game will be a very important one for us and them, but there are a lot more games to come before then," said Penney.

"We need to make sure we pick up points and are there or thereabouts when the game (against Hereford) comes around.

"We know what games we have left, five at home and five away, and we'll start with Grimsby (this afternoon)."

Darlington drew at Shrewsbury last Tuesday and recorded their 22nd clean sheet of the season.
