The list of candidates for the Chester job is going local. Chairman Stephen Vaughan has told the press he wants a 'local man', with TNS boss Ken McKenna and Rochdale assistant boss David Flitcroft named as being in the frame. Shrewsbury's vacancy is interesting former Carlisle boss Paul Simpson, whose 18 month spell at Preston ended in November.
Notts County are expected to retain loan keeper Russell Hoult from Stoke after he was recalled after the weekend due to an injury crisis. Stoke have now acquired Carlo Nash from Wigan as cover.
