Police investigating an alleged assault at Hereford United’s derby match against Shrewsbury Town are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The incident allegedly took place in the North Stand at The New Meadow football ground during the game itself on Saturday, February 23rd at about 3.20pm.
A Hereford fan suffered injuries and made a complaint to police a few days after the alleged assault. Investigations are under way and police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
Detective Constable Andy Hawkins, of Shrewsbury CID, said: “There were a lot of fans in the away stand who would have seen this happen and I would ask anyone who did to please contact me on 08457 444888.
“We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but would ask that anyone else who saw what happened please come forward.”
