In a long interview on BBC Radio Shropshire Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters continually contrasted the difference in the make-up of the two teams this afternoon.
"So, who were we playing out there? Were we playing Hereford or were we playing an amalgamated team from the Premiership and the Championship loan players?"
Asked about Hereford striker Sherjill MacDonald, Peters though he was the main difference between the sides.
"The fellow is brilliant. Absolute quality. He's magnificent. He's a great player. He's going to play for West Brom.
"If you want to make the team better with someone elses players it's a different thing. Loan players at your club when it's going well - they love it."
Shrewsbury's loan player scored their goal
"That's the difference between Hall, our loan player who wants to join us and can join us at the end of the season in comparison to going and getting the best players from the Championship who can't join you.
"We tend to have one loan player at a time that we can turn into a permanent signing. Our lads are all going to be with us next year.
"They (Hereford) are a good side at the moment. What do they do when the seven go back?"
Talking about MacDonald and the Hereford goals Peters said:
"It was just that bit of magic, bit of quality from MacDonald that opened it up. He's the best player in our League by a mile. The sooner he goes back to the Championship the better."
Peters thought Shrewsbury were on top most of the second half.
"We pressured them more. We were the better side in the second half.
"We done better than them today. They won the game because they've got that little of quality. The substitutions they made were just bringing on other signings from the Premier League.
"That's not building anything - we're trying to build something here."
