Former Hereford United winger Lionel Ainsworth started for Watford in their game at Plymouth this afternoon but was subbed at half time.
He was mentioned in the Official Watford report of the game.
The Golden Boys were subdued for long periods of the first half with the visitors looking the more likely to score. On a rare breakaway, Tamas Priskin found Ainsworth in space on the right and he skipped round his full back and delivered a great ball into the box that was cleared by the big centre half.
The loanee was then involved again and after a mix-up between the goalkeeper and a defender, Lee Williamson drove from the edge of the box but his shot was blocked by the crowd of players.
Watford lost the game 1-0.
Meanwhile manager Aidy Boothroyd confirmed that Gavin Mahon, formerly with Hereford United, would be leaving the club either in January or at the end of the season.
