Stockport Travel Update

Recent alterations to the times and availability of trains have made enforced changes to the options for fans planning to travel by rail. There appear to be a choice of two routes. One involves a train to Worcester leaving Hereford at 8.50am but with changes at Worcester, Smethwick and Wolverhampton arriving at Stockport at 12.44. The easier route appears to be the one that leaves Hereford at 08.28 arriving at Chester at 10.28. Leave Chester at 11.01 and arrive in Stockport at 12.19. The return journey looks OK leaving Stockport at 17.42 or 18.43 arriving back in The Shire at 19.52 or 20.45. Adult fares are quoted at £33.10 with the possibility of Group Travel savings and youth prices.

I remain nervous about the Chester route though as trains to the north via Shrewsbury are subject to a coach journey between Craven Arms and Slop whereas the Chester train schedule does not show this inconvenience and it could cause a problem if it occurs.

Meanwhile, fans are reminded that the HUISA coach leaves Edgar Street at 09.30 with a fare of £16. Bookings can be made through the Club office (01432 276666). A 15 seater FUNBUS will leave at 10.00/10.15 – contact Oxo as usual.
