Dennis Wise has confirmed that Dave Bassett has joined Leeds as assistant manager for an initial six months.
"I'm here for six months, we'll give it a go, and we'll get it together," Bassett told the Leeds Official Website.
"I've still got the enthusiasm to do something. I'd had offers which haven't been right, and if I was going to do something it had to be right. This is Leeds United and this is a challenge and it feels right.
"Dennis is keen to get back to the Championship - I saw him after relegation last season and I think that's the lowest I've ever seen him.
"Dennis wanted someone who's experienced. He knows I have that and that's a good quality. We worked together at Millwall and Southampton, and I knew him as a player."
Meanwhile just to complicate matters Dave is known as Harry, so when Dave directs Leeds from the dug-out at Edgar Street next Friday evening, Dennis who will be in the stands will be shouting his orders at Harry.
Finally Dennis Wise failed to be named as the League One manager of the month earlier today.
