Penney Glad For Wright Rest

Darlington boss Dave Penney is glad striker Tommy Wright sat out last weekend's game against Chesterfield.

The 23 year old top scorer looked jaded, according to Penney, against Bradford the previous week and needed a break. A suspension for five yellow cards gave the seven goal striker an enforced break on Saturday.

Penney told the local press: "After the Bradford game I said it was probably time that he had a rest anyway, because he was as poor as the rest of the centre-forwards in the Bradford match. After 12 or 13 games it was perfect for him to have a rest because he looked a bit jaded. Hopefully, after the rest on Saturday he'll come back ready for Hereford."

Penney was not happy about the performance on Saturday as they failed to score for the second game running: "We didn't hold the ball up on Saturday and it's glaring. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that because it's happened in the last couple of games. We've worked on it but we've got to be braver and stronger than we have been."
