News Round Up

Accrington have been told to pay just £4,000 for defender Mark Roberts. The 23 year old signed from Northwich earlier in the summer, and the clubs disputed whether he was a free agent or not. The FA tribunal made the miniscule fee after hearing Roberts was only with the Vics for six months.

Barnet are to sign goalkeeper Rob Beckwith after a successful trial. The 22 year old former Luton trainee passed a medical on Thursday. The Bees have also signed seven youngsters from local football and their youth team to Football League forms to act as cover to the first team.

Part-time Stafford are set to sign striker David McNiven from under the noses of Halifax after they offered the player far more than the full time club. Leeds lost their appeal yesterday with 64 (90%) of the 71 voting clubs in favour of the docked points.

Shrewsbury have added former Cambridge and Swindon striker Fola Onibuje on non-contract terms. The 6ft6in forward has been on trial for the last few weeks and manager Gary Peters wants more time to determine his future. Lincoln have loaned winger Ryan Semple to Rushden for a month.
