Turner may want rain on his new seeds

Graham Turner has told the Worcester News about progress with the new grass seeds recently planted at Edgar Street.

"It has been totally re-seeded, the top inch or so has been taken off, there's been a lot of top-dressing put on, nearly 100 tonnes, so there has been a lot of work going on.

"Four days ago, the pitch was like a desert, there was barely a blade of grass on it.

"We're probably a fortnight to three weeks ahead of what we were this time last year."

Turner will need warm rain at times on Edgar Street if the seeds are to fully establish before pre-season matches begin.

Meanwhile Ryan Green, the former Hereford United player now with Play-off finalists Bristol Rovers, has mentioned his time at Hereford in a Western Mail article today.

"I settled at Hereford for three years and that was great," said Green.

"It was the first time I had been able to establish myself in a first team and really get on with playing.

"I played non-stop football and learned such a lot over those three years.

"Before that it seemed to be about 12, 13, 14 games a season and that was it. Scoring the goal that won the play-off (at Leicester) was fabulous."
