Hereford United have confirmed that Phil Gulliver has left the club to join Rushden.
The central defender still had a year left on his contract, but failed to become a permanent fixture in the first team playing in just 31 of the 53 first team games.
His original transfer to the Bulls was delayed after Rushden asked for a fee for their then player of the year and League Two select XI member. Rushden dropped their request, noting that an undisclosed agreement had been reached and the player has returned to Nene Park on a free transfer.
The move leaves just six players on contract for next season.
