Accrington Stanley could end up being a pub team, after the club confirmed plans to take over a local pub.
The Crown, after which the club's ground was originally named, is available for rent with Chief Executive Rob Heys telling the local press: "We are very interesting in taking over at the Crown. It is a great location and one that is already very popular with supporters.
"We are trying to improve facilities for fans at the stadium and this could be one way of increasing the service we provide while also bringing more money into the club. The pub would be a seven-days-a-week operation and would not be dependent on the football team."
The club plans to close the existing supporters bar at the ground and convert it into a sponsors area, leaving supporters with nowhere to drink.
