Two decisions from referee Gary Sutton left Hereford United coach John Trewick feeling hard done by. The Bulls went down to ten men late in the game when Dean Beckwith was sent off and Walsall made the advantage count.
Trewick spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester after the game.
"We've lost because of baffling decisions as far as I'm concerned.
"I was convinced it was a foul on Dean Beckwith. Even Trevor Benjamin said well you know there was nothing there. When the opposition player says that you know the referee has got it wrong.
"There are technicalities in the game. Arguably he was the last defender on the edge of the box, in front of goal and I suppose the letter of the law says if you are the last defender and the referee deems you have committed a foul and brought him down and it's a goal scoring chance then he has to go off the field.
"But I mean it's just a nonsense. To me there was no foul. Arguably it was a foul the other way.
"It baffles me how referees can make those type of decision.
"He gave one against Travis when his shirt was off his back.
"It doesn't make sense. It's not common-sense. I'm a bit baffled by it all."
