Both the outside and inside of Darlington's stadium are very impressive but this afternoon it was probably one of the coldest places anywhere to be watching a football match.
One side of the stadium
The history of the stadium is well-known. Built to cater for 25,000, it's just too big. There's nothing much close to it so supporters tend to use the bars before games. But for travelling supporters it is easy to find being just two miles or so off the A1M.
Away supporters are sat behind the one goal in the East Stand. It's a good view and there's even a big TV screen to the right.
View from the away end
However in a stadium of this size it's very difficult to create much atmosphere, unlike, for example, at Hartlepool just a few miles further away.
