Ben Smith has told the Western Daily Press that he has had an offer from Hereford United to return to Edgar Street from crisis-torn Weymouth.
Former skipper Ben Smith is also expected to depart within the next couple of days.
He said last night that he had received offers from four Football League clubs, including AFC Bournemouth and Hereford United.
Smith said: "It's a great shame that all this has happened so quickly, especially as we have been doing so well. I am really unhappy about it and so are all the other players."
Meanwhile, former Weymouth chairman Ian Ridley has made an offer to take the club over again. Ridley and current chairman Martyn Harrison have been in open warfare, accusing each other of trying to bankrupt the club.
