News Round Up

Boston have signed Chester's 'captain' Stephen Vaughan Jnr on a permanent deal. The player failed to even grace the bench in his loan spell at Rochdale, leaving many Dale fans suspecting that the transfer was a ruse while a permanent deal was sorted elsewhere for the son of the Chester chairman.

Torquay are set to move for Barnet striker Guiliano Grazioli on loan with the imminent departure of Jamie Ward. The club have apparently valued Ward at £400,000 after signing him on a free transfer in the summer. Coach Colin Lee is also making an audacious attempt to sign Wolves keeper Michael Oakes as player-coach.

Grimsby are to give a trial to Stevenage striker Tony Thorpe, who had spent time on loan at the club earlier in the season, with a view to a permanent transfer. Accrington have had a £110,000 bid for York striker Clayton Donaldson rejected. Stanley have lost the services of Cardiff winger Joe Jacobson after seven games with the end of his loan.

Shrewsbury midfielder Neil Sorvel is lining up a January departure from Gay Meadow after dropping out of the first team picture. Sorvel, who joined from Crewe in the summer, has not started a game in two months.
