With Walsall not in action until Monday night, both Lincoln and Milton Keynes Dons failed to close the gap on the leaders. Lincoln were held 1-1 at home by Shrewsbury, despite taking the lead through Lee Frecklington. Milton Keynes Dons fell to a single goal at the in form side Hartlepool, who continue their march up the table. Swindon though did take advantage by moving up to second place, courtesy of a home victory over managerless Wrexham. Christian Roberts struck the all important penalty to win the game for the home side, despite Wrexham taking the lead in just the eighth minute.
Wycombe followed up their impressive draw against Chelsea with a late win over Chester at the Deva Stadium. Jermaine Easter was on target once again to snatch the points in the 88th minute. Bristol Rovers move into the play-off places, after Richie Lambert scored the only goal of the game at his old club Rochdale. Stockport's home win against lowly Boston, and Notts County's away win at Accrington see both sides move up the table.
Peterborough started the day in the play-off places but they were comprehensively beaten at Darlington 3-1, despite handing former Stevenage star George Boyd a debut. Julian Joachim striking twice for Darlo, in front of just 2,321 fans. Elsewhere, Macclesfield's superb recent run came to an end with a narrow defeat at Barnet. Torquay looked to have claimed a vital three points at home to Bury after two Jamie Ward penalties gave them a 2-0 lead, but Marc Pugh's strike and Andy Bishop's late penalty handed the away side a point.
