Westley Waits On Future

Graham Westley has admitted he doesn't know wether he will remain as Stevenage manager, but will tell his players their fates before he finds out his own.

Failure to make the play-offs has left many Stevenage fans calling for Westley's head and he admits mistakes have been made this season, telling the official Stevenage site: "Whether I agree a new contract or not remains to be seen. The Chairman has asked me to talk to him on that matter but I wanted to get the season finished first. I shall meet the players on Wednesday and let them know their futures and then i will meet Phil on Thursday.

"Two facts cannot be ignored: 1. we were not good enough over 42 games, 2. we finished higher than some very big clubs. I made some mistakes this year and we certainly paid a price for being in the play off final last year."

Another manager sweating on his future is Scarboro boss Neil Redfearn, whose side were relegated on Saturday. Redfearn admits that his job is one of those up for discussion: "I have been in football for a long time, and I know what is required to get to the top and stay there, and it's hard. Whatever decisions are now made must be in the best interests of the football club. The decision as to the manager's job may well be one of those."

Redfearn and Scarboro could get a reprieve if the long awaited Canvey decision and the Altrincham appeal go their way but one person expecting a long summer is Tamworth boss Mark Cooper, whose side will survive if only one club leaves, as he expects a court battle if Altrincham win their appeal: "Altrincham used an ineligible player so I cannot see how the FA can possibly overturn the decision made by the Conference, There will be lawsuits flying around if they do."
