Harvey and McIlroy talk about the play-offs

Jim Harvey is well on his way to recover after suffering health problems last November and he and Sammy McIlroy has been talking to the Morecambe press about the play-off games against Hereford United.

McIlroy has been in charge at Christie Park whilst Harvey recuperates.

"It was very strange to watch your team being managed by someone else but this is where it all came into place.

"Sammy has been one of my best friends in football and when I wanted to ease back in, I have been more than welcome.

"Sammy has kept me involved in things, asking my advice on things and I have felt as though I have been still involved.

"The whole key is to keep things going. We are playing football again and everyone has found confidence that we had early on in the season. There is not an awful lot of work that needs doing, just keep up the form."

Harvey met his wife, Wendy, whilst playing at Edgar Street and still has a lot of affection for Hereford United.

"For me, Hereford are the most difficult opposition. Over the last three or four years, Graham Turner has done a terrifc job.

"We have got the more difficult job with Hereford but over the two legs we can certainly overcome them.

"Our games over the last two or three years have been very close but results would suggest we can go there with confidence."

Sammy McIlroy has also been talking about the games.

"It makes no difference to me who we play. A lot of people are saying that it would be great to have the home leg second but we know what we have to do.

"We are looking forward to it, there should be a great atmosphere down here at Christie Park and if things don't go our way, we have always got a second bite of the cherry.

"At the end of the day, if we do our job right, we will be hard to beat.

"They are an experienced side and have been in the play-offs the last few years but not crawled over the line.

"They know all about us and they know they are going to be in a hard game. If we play to our capability we are a match for anybody.

"If we are still in the game going to Hereford I will be very pleased, if we go there with a lead, then even better."
