It should be Morecambe on Tuesday

Hereford United are due to play at the Christie Park on Tuesday evening in the rearranged Conference fixture.

At present (Sunday afternoon) conditions at Morecambe are said to be quite wet, but it does look as though the next two days will be a little drier than recently.

Hopefully the game will go ahead, but should there be a postponement, Hereford supporters deserve to be given enough notice to save them from setting out to Lancashire.

Originally the game was due to be played on the afternoon of Saturday March 4th but was postponed around 12.45pm. Many fans were already close to the ground; some even reached it and looked around. In the main their view was that the game should have gone ahead.

It was even worse for the Hereford squad who had travelled up on the previous afternoon and stayed overnight. Graham Turner, the Bulls manager, was reported not to be very happy with the referee's decision about the state of the pitch.

Below we republish our details about travel to Morecambe and also admission prices.

Most of the following information comes from the Official Morecambe website.

Christie Park has a capacity of approximately 6400 with a seating capacity of 1200 in The Main Stand. The only part of the ground which isn't covered is The Car Wash Terrace. The turnstiles at the side of The Umbro Stand are intended for away supporters.

Directions to Christie Park:

Leave the M6 Motorway at Junction 34 and follow the signs for Lancaster along Caton Road. Travel along this road until you come to a set of traffic lights. Follow the signs for Morecambe. You will then pass behind the Kingsway building and the dry cleaners. On your left will be Halfords, Curry's and Comet.

There is now an option to turn left into the city centre or to carry on. Carry on, still following the signs for Morecambe. You are now on Morecambe Road. You will pass the Castle which is up on the hill to your left. You will also pass Riversway House which is on the right. Travel along this road until you reach the roundabout.

At the roundabout, go straight ahead, you will reach another roundabout and you will see McDonalds on the left. Carry straight on at this roundabout. You will now reach yet another roundabout with five junctions, you should take the second junction which takes you down Lancsater Road. You will then pass a petrol station and, as you do so, Christie Park will become visible on your left.

The car park entrance is on the left just before the ground. Parking is plentiful and free.

These are the ticket prices for Tuesdays trip to Christie Park from the Morecambe Official Website.
