Accrington Stanley's young goalkeeper, Rob Elliot, is hoping to keep another clean sheet against Hereford United tomorrow. The on-loan goalkeeper has kept seven clean sheets in 14 Conference outings and he has yet to lose a league game in a Stanley shirt.
"It's been going really well. In total I've kept nine clean sheets in 19 games, and we could have had a lot more than that," Elliot told the Accrington Telegraph.
"You can put a lot of that down to the back four because there have been very few games where I've had loads to do.
"Obviously there will be games where people aren't up to their best, but luckily when that's happened I've made saves."
Elliot thinks Stanley will be full of confidence tomorrow hoping to extend their lead over the Bulls to 19 points.
"It's a bit of a daunting lead at times, but I think it's helped us to stay focused because at the back of your mind you know if you lose you could still be in trouble.
"Everyone's just determined not to give anyone else a sniff, and we'll be going to Hereford to win.
"It's going to be one of the best games of the season. They will think they've got a chance of catching us, but we've got to prove why we're top of the league."
Meanwhile Graham Turner has spoken to the Worcester News about the game and his hopes of closing the gap on Accrington.
"We will never stop thinking we could catch them.
"Obviously, we have got to win tomorrow and continue to hope Accrington have a sticky spell.
"But we've got to ensure at least enough points for a play-off place. There is fierce competition for play-off places. Teams like York are doing really well and we must be aware of that.
"Accrington have gone on and on, but they've been a bit fortunate in one or two games. I've talked to their manager and he admits they were fortunate against Burton.
"All we can possibly do is win the game and look to win the following game.
"We play Southport on Tuesday, so if we win both that will close the gap to 10 points. We will approach the game no differently to the way we play in every game, whether it's home or away."
