Graham Turner told the Non-League paper that yesterday's win against Halifax gave the Bulls three excellent points.
"I thought we worked hard. They are a decent side and, although we were a little fortuitous with the goal, we ground them down.
"We had a lot of the ball, got some good balls into their penalty area in the first half - we should have got on the end of one or two.
"We are always very wary of Halifax because they have a very good second-half record this season and I thought we dealt with the threat they posed very well.
"Generally we have to be very pleased with the effort that was put in by all the players and the result which puts us in a good position."
The Halifax manager, Chris Wilder, seemed not too disappointed with the Shaymen's performance.
"This is a massively difficult place to come and get a result against a team I have a lot of respect for but it was a good game between two sides who really went for it."
