Conference would be a backwards step

It was revealed last week that Barnet's out of favour midfielder Dwane Lee had rejected a move to Hereford.

The Non-League Paper website says that his rejection of the move came on the final day of the transfer window.

"I just didn't want to take a step back into the Conference," said Lee.

"I've worked so hard to get into the Football League and if at some stage there was an opportunity to play at a higher level then I would jump at the chance."
