Kandol Rejects Darlington Move

Dagenham striker Tresor Kandol has pulled out of a permanent move to Darlington, citing personal problems with relocating to the North East as the main problem.

Kandol, 24, made seven appearance but failed to make much of an impression with Darlo until his scored in each of the last two games. He also went AWOL from training after apparently being involved in a minor car crash.

Quite where this leaves Dagenham is open to question. Manager John Still had described the permanent deal, believed to be worth £50,000, as unbreakable at the time of Kandol's absence, and that the money was destined to secure the finances of the club for the season. Dagenham have yet to comment on the move.

Dagenham have been short of goals in Kandol's absence, averaging just a goal a game since his departure. A move for Heybridge striker Cliff Akurang on loan saw him score one in three games, but he missed the final three games of his loan with injury. Still remained interested in taking Akurang for longer but that situation is likely to change with Kandol apparently back on board.
